In September 2012, I partnered with CJSR 88.5 FM, a campus-based community radio station, to launch The Gateway Presents.

The twice-monthly, half-hour spoken word program focuses on news and happenings that affect students at the University of Alberta.

As Multimedia Editor, the show was my effort to expose volunteers to other viable forms of journalism beyond our print product.

I was involved in all aspects of the show, from its initial development to planning content to recording and editing segments with the News Director of CJSR.

Below are some notable examples of my work.

Under my direction, The Gateway Presents underwent an overhaul in 2013, showcasing fresh, new segments that offered a unique look inside our organization. This episode is a great example of my broad involvement with the show. I planned and assigned all three segments to volunteers, helped record the Purity Test segment, and interviewed the Students' Union CRO for the final segment.

This clip features my interview with Petros Kusmu, who was fresh off his election win as the 2013-14 Students' Union President. We discussed his plans for his upcoming presidency in light of the extensive post-secondary budget cuts that were announced the day of his win.

Check out this clip to hear me on hosting duties.  I've always felt comfortable behind the microphone and get a kick out of sharing news on the radio.
